On February 10th, the Nolcha Shows, a leading event for up and coming fashion designers, hosted 8 new designer runway shows for the Fall/Winter 2019 season during New York Fashion Week.
The day kicked off with UNWONTED, which showcased a mix of men’s & women’s ready-to-wear as well as two children’s looks. The line was showed an intimate relationship between materials and cut, including wool, velvet, organza leather, silk and corduroy.
The 3pm runway featured ACID NYC's new collection "Architectura" for men & women collection, which was inspired by the beauty and structure of urban architecture, with prints and fabric choices that give the essence of metal, glass facades and neoclassical buildings.
The 6pm group show included three different designers. Bennov, a women’s contemporary read-to-wear and outerwear. The collection had a lovely mix of sequin, feather and cashmere embellishments.
Supin, the second show, was men’s streetwear inspired by minimalism and ancient Chinese characters.
Videmus Omnia, an avant-garde womenswear inspired by modern art and music pioneers, with deconstructed silhouettes infused with luxurious and intricate textiles.
The final show of the day featured 3 very innovative designers as well. First was Amnesia, a Hungarian brand that offers unique garments and accessories for the free spirited woman and inspired this season by Budapest
The event came to it's end after two runway shows, one by Virtruvius, a collection created by students from Vancouver, Canada and finally Hathairat, a brand designed by a Bangkok native who is now based in New York, and known for its statement styles which are inspired this season by renaissance attire with the urban lifestyle.
Nolcha partnered with the Make-A-Wish® Foundation for the second time to grant the wishes of two young girls who dreamed of becoming fashion models. Nolcha and the organization were able to grant these wishes by offering them a behind-the-scenes experience at NYFW which included backstage hair & makeup treatment, being styled & dressed by this season’s designers including ACID NYC & Videmus Omnia, front row seating, and a personal photoshoot with a professional fashion photographer.
