My Favorite Places in Mexico City

It's safe to say that our bags were not the only ones leaving Mexico City with a few extra pounds.

I really did not know what to expect from the city, I only knew that the food was delicious... and it definitely did not disappoint. I cannot begin to explain the diversity between dishes and prices we tried and none of them failed. It was truly an enriching cultural and sensory experience.

My favorite areas of the city were Polanco, La Condesa, and the Zona Rosa - all of these areas are full of super cool cafés, divine restaurants, and concept/vintage stores. So when you go to Mexico City, I definitely recommend you to visit the places in this Google Link.

I also included my favorite places below:

1) Restaurante Rosetta

We went to Rosetta for lunch and it was a spectacular experience. The restaurant is an inner patio and has a romantic vibe. The food is exquisite - especially the corn tamale, celeriac and smoked butter and the Mole de Hoja Santa and quelites tamale.

2) Museo de Frida Kahlo

If you know the history of Frida Kahlo, going to her museum will be the most intimate and beautiful experience you will have with her. Seeing her paintings, her dresses, and her walking tools, helped me to know a vulnerable side that I had not yet seen. It was truly a magical experience.

3) Hotel Condesa DF

Hotel Condesa has a cute rooftop which is perfect for friends on a nice sunny Saturday afternoon. It was the perfect place to catch up with friends while having a few tapas and drinks.

4) Café Nin

It is one of the most beautiful and delicious restaurants that I have tried for brunch in my entire life. Everything on the menu is delicious so I recommend dishes to share natural juices, and sweetbreads at the end to share as well. You will not regret it.

5) Goodbye Folk Vintage Boutique

To my surprise, CDMX has a wide variety of vintage clothing stores, but the one that caught my attention the most was Goodbye Folk, a second-hand clothing boutique that offers high-quality and restored clothing, garments, and shoes. If you are interested in exploring the world second hand, this is the place.

6) Mercado de Coyoacan

There is nothing like the Mercado de Coyoacan to enjoy street food in Mexico and soak up its culture and traditions.

7) El Palacio de Bellas Artes

At the Palacio de Bellas Artes, you can visit different exhibitions of Mexican artists and a selection of European artists. In our case, we had the pleasure of seeing Modigliani's exhibition and it was truly impressive.

8) Maque

We went to Maque for breakfast our last day before leaving for the airport. There you will find a rich selection of baked goods in addition to the traditional Mexican breakfasts. It is a super cozy and quiet place to visit any morning.

9) Quentin Café

Don't be fooled by appearances, this little hole in the wall has so much more to offer than just coffee. Step inside and you will be mesmerized by its beautiful design and use of space. You will also love its small interior patio.

10) Limantour

Limantour is a highly recognized bar around the world. Right now it is positioned as the Top 10 worldwide for its high-caliber cocktails. Going to Limantour is a MUST.
